Remembrance Day

Lest we forget.

Today we lay our poppy wreaths at our local church, St John's Church in Padworth.

The red poppy symbolises remembrance, hope for a peaceful future and commemorates the soldiers who fought and died in war. Poppies were chosen as a symbol because they often grew in the battlefields after the soldiers stopped fighting.

This week we had the privilege of a surprise visit from a solider who was one of the children's parents.

The children were very engaged, asking lots of questions and really enjoyed learning about the different uniforms and medals!
