Our Senior Nursery Manager & Safeguarding Lead
I have always believed that the outdoors is the best environment for children to play, learn and discover. Over the years I have been able to develop this passion using our beautiful rural setting which allows children to explore and learn from a range of surroundings both inside and out. From our purpose-built Nursery with fantastically well-equipped areas for each age and stage to our farm, woodland, Forest Schools learning, gardens and mud kitchen.
For as long as I can remember I’ve been caring for children; there was no other vocation which matched it from the age of 14. My career has spanned experience as a private nanny, nursery nurse and as a manager at the renowned Norland College. I have led the team at Jubilee for over 15 years and it is a truly unique place. It is an absolute honour to care for the children who come through our doors and as a team we pride ourselves on creating magical memories and exceptional learning opportunities.
Our Deputy Manager & Forest Schools Leader
I absolutely adore the outdoors and the opportunities it provides. I chose to train as a Forest Schools Leader so that I could share my passion with the children in my care.
To have such a stunning woodland environment at Jubilee is a real gift. Together we collect fire wood, learn to build dens, use a variety of tools, bug hunt and seek adventures! It’s so rewarding to see children naturally use the outdoors as a learning resource and the joy they experience by doing so.
Our Deputy Manager and Apprenticeships & Training Lead
I proudly wear the crown for the longest serving member of staff, having joined Jubilee in 1995 as an Apprentice. Now I use my experience and skills to ensure we develop the next generation of practitioners coming through to be the very best they can be.
I’m honoured that parents give us the opportunity to care for their children who become part of the Jubilee family and I really miss them when it’s time for them to move on. I call it ‘work’ but in reality there is no other place I would like to spend my career.
Our EYFS & Famly Lead
As the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Lead for Jubilee’s nurseries (and Manager of our term-time nursery, Jubilee Gems) I’m responsible for working with our practitioners to ensure the best outcomes for each child are achieved through our programme of learning and development. Through best practice, sharing of skills and sound knowledge we are able see the children flourish. We have a superb team and I love inspiring them to be the best they can be.
I also lead on Famly – an innovative and interactive online journal recording all the learning and fun of children's early years education at Jubilee Day Nursery. It builds strong relationships between Key Person and parent/carer and allows those precious moments at nursery and at home to be captured and conveyed in real time.
With many years of experience working in the Early Years sector and for Jubilee I see my vocation as a real privilege. Children are so natural and impulsive that numerous times a day they make me smile and laugh. Seeing them develop and achieve new things daily is incredibly fulfilling.
Our Special Educational Needs & Disability Co-ordinator (over 3s)
As just one of the fantastic team of practitioners at Jubilee, I work with the over 3 age group. I have been working in Early Years for over 14 years in Berkshire and Hampshire and hold a Level 5 Foundation Degree in Early Years Childcare and Education. I have held Room Senior and team leader / supervisory positions for the last 10 years. A decade ago I trained as a Special Educational Needs & Disability Co-ordinator and have experience of supporting children with various additional needs and disabilities as well as children on the autistic spectrum.
My role as SENDCO involves me liaising with keypersons, the Senior Leadership Team, other agencies and, of course, parents and carers to co-ordinate support for children and monitor their progress.
At Jubilee I find it hugely rewarding to be part of a team who work so hard to help children grow and achieve their goals.
Our Cook
Providing breakfast, snack, a two-course lunch and a tea for all of the children on a daily basis is a constant challenge but one which I absolutely love! Putting nutritionally balanced menus together allows my creative side to spring into action.
It’s my role to source good quality ingredients and cater for any children with special dietary requirements. It really is a pleasure to see children develop a varied palate during their time with us and enjoy food!
